I was 16 years old, I had spent an hour or more, struggling with my 60mm 450x Sears refractor on its wobbly Alt azimuth mount. All I wanted to do was get a close up look at a bright star at 450x. No matter what I did I could not see the star. I was ready to give up on astronomy for good!
Then I heard a voice behind me "Would you like some help?" of course I said yes! My new found friend removed the 4mm AR eyepiece and the 3x barlow, put in the 20mm AR eyepiece and showed me not just a star but a double star! Alberio WOW!
I was instantly hooked on astronomy. Or as my wife would say years later, obsessed! Ok I am obsessed I admit it. Click around on my site to share my obsession. But beware! you may become obssessed yourself!
